TDM - Somewhere, beyond the sea~

THE UNKNOWN SEAS TDM
Hello and welcome to the Test Drive Meme for Unknown Seas! Welcome to the bottom of the whole ocean, kids. Use this as a space to freely test characters or character options in something close to the setting! Standard format applies, drop your character name and canon in the subject line
The facility is pretty simple, even if there isn't an exact map yet. There are a number of various windowless rooms and common areas in clusters connected by long glass corridors built in the bottom of the sea. If you look up you can see more tunnels above, but they're darkened completely. Here's some prompts! The kids love prompts, right?
1. Arise from the depths (of sleep)
You wake up in a very functional and simple bed in a very functional and simple room. It's definitely not, however, where you went to sleep. Did you even go to sleep? That's pretty alarming. Also potentially alarming is the window in the wall above the writing desk you've been given - that's uh. That's water out there, buddy. You're underwater. Well-lit underwater, but underwater. You should probably look around or maybe outside - who knows, maybe other people are around here? Or maybe you want to try to demand to speak to a manager.
2. Killing time
Between bursts of violent murder, there aren't exactly a bunch of scheduled activities in this place. So there's a need to fill the time somehow... what are you doing to kill time? I know most everyone interested is a murdergame vet of some kind, so feel free to add in whatever standard murdergame rooms you like to fill the space! There's all kinds of things here. Maybe there's a theater, or an art room, or... an aquarium, for ultimate levels of nonsense?
3. Motive time!
The Professor has announced a new motive for murder! Maybe you've been given an envelope with your deepest darkest secret, maybe you're being offered a great deal of money... maybe he's giving the kitchen staff a week off! There's all kinds of things he could do.
4. Material goods???
There's a vending machine in the hallway, with no... buttons for selection or anything, which is weird. All you can do is drop the coins you sometimes get into the coin slot and hope! It might drop all kinds of things - it's regains, you know the drill.
5. Down where it's wetter, down where someone's deader...
There's been a murder! Get out there and investigate, or like... don't. I'm not your dad. Maybe you want to shield some poor teenager from a grisly murder? Or maybe the investigation is over and you want to chat about the grisly murder over some relaxing tea from the kitchen. You do you!
6. Other
Or maybe there's something not on here that you want to do! This TDM is for you, live your dreams!
Scintilla Caminus | FFXIV [WoL] | 5.2 spoilers likely
[Out in the halls was a young woman with her face practically pressed to the glass, tall feline ears pinned back and matching tail swaying in excitement or agitation. It wasn't that she'd never seen fish before, or even that she'd never seen an underwater town or two. But waking up in one she didn't recognize, especially with no sahagin, ondo, or what have you in sight? That was new.]
[b; killing time/material goods]
[Scintilla was apparently the kind of person who mostly kept to herself; she didn't speak all that much unless directly addressed, and much like any cat had a tendency to go unseen until she popped up where least expected. Like, for example, the art room...where she seemed to have gathered a pile of metal art tools and silverware on a table while looking at the kiln in deep thought. Or the theater, where...she visibly had no damn clue what to make of anything. Technology, man.]
[Sooner or later she'd be around the vending machine, tossing a coin to herself and evaluating whether or not putting it in would be a good idea or not.]
[c; wildcard]
[anything else you want, infopost and impressions here]
a
A catperson though, that is... something]
...what is that?!
[....she can hear you, dude]

Brian Yu | Monster Prom
[ you know what, being underwater sort of loses his glamour when one of your classmates is a mermaid princess. but whatever, brian sort of yawns. he can't remember falling asleep, but he spends a lot of his time asleep so it's not anything new. but maybe it wouldn't be so bad to catch up on some z's.
so he's just gonna find a seat and lean his head back and pass right the fuck out.
don't mind this zombie just snoring alright? ]
b;
[ Brian drops a coin into the vending machine and out pops... a dragon costume ]
I'm... not putting this on.
b;
Looks cozy.
Hibiki Kuze | devil survivor 2 |
[Even with everything being... everything, Hibiki has been doing his best to be friendly with everyone. And sometimes you just need a chance to relax! Maybe by force. So he might end up dragging folks along to play in the arcade or to watch a movie!
And for anyone super stoic and not fun... well they might just get literally sneak attacked from behind some furniture. Oops]
(5; well shit)
[No murder has been announced yet... because the victim isn't actually dead yet. Maybe the killer underestimated him. Maybe you are the killer. Either way, being the friendly group bonding guy seems to have made Hibiki a target, and here he is bleeding against one of the aquarium walls.
It's too late, he won't make it....]
Ha... this is embarrassing... after all that...
5
It kind of sucked having to get his hands dirty but it was a fact of life that sometimes it was a necessity. ]
I'll say! I mean, you did try? So I'll give you kudos for that.
Though, hmm. I really think most people would anyway?

Rhea | Fire Emblem Three Houses
[Rhea's routine is quite, well, routine. She's normally found in the library. A stack of books is by her side, there's quite an array from a survey on sea life to some random treatise on military strategy. She usually seems to be taking notes on them--though if you get close to her without Rhea noticing the 'notes' seem more like outlines on a sermon. A very angry one that has nothing to do with the books.
However, nearing the time of curfew in a far corner of the facility almost every night Rhea is found deep in prayer. Most of the time it's silent, other times she hums a song that's much more like a lullaby than a hymn.]
3; the wicked will always get their just end
[Rhea, for the most, is very calm throughout this ordeal. She's only gotten upset during the trials and days leading up to the murders. Anger that such action must be taken, that life must suffer for such petty things... She offers up these explanations.
This time, however, she is relatively calm though the anger in her voice is clear.]
Such arrogance... The Professor is playing with fire. It stirs the blood to know that such wicked soul is in charge of us all. [She turns her head.]
Those that try going down such a path will eventually trip. Do you not agree?
4: may I offer you a flower in this trying time?
[Rhea has taken the item away from the vending machine. It's a simple hair clip with a white lily adorning it. She lifts it up with a smile.]
My, what a relief that it is still intact. It really is the little things that can get one through the harshest of days.

[Hibiki has always been very polite and friendly, but at her words he seems... almost distant.]

I agree that Professor is bound to get into deep trouble.
It's not like the rest of us don't have more important things to do other than kill each other. It'll also be quite fun watching what kind of end comes to that 'wicked soul', don't you think?

He'll head across from her, set down his own stack of books, and pull up a chair, then.]
Have you found anything particularly interesting? I'll admit, there are some things I wish to take back home when we've found a proper way out of this situation, but aside from that, none of it seems useful in that regard.

Seteth | Fire Emblem: Three Houses
[Okay, but why is there an aquarium in this lab?! What on earth? Seteth is just looking over the tanks, his brows furrowed...]
...I do not understand. We can see fish by simply looking out the window, so what is the purpose of... this?
[are they freshwater fish? Are they just... fishceptioned? what is happening.]
4.
[Well, he's come into some coin, and he's kind of curious about what that strange machine in the hallway is actually for, so he's going to give it a long, measured look before... sticking a coin in and backing away cautiously... fortunately, it doesn't explode or anything. It does, however, spit out... a snapped writing quill?]
...
I... see. Hm.
6.

[Hey, Seteth. Aela's got a few coins and she's hanging out in the doorway, arms folded as she watches.]
Have you had any luck with this machine at all? I have heard that it can give items from our homes.

[Nira wakes up with a groan, and immediately notices that this is not her beautiful house or her beautiful husband. She's almost instantly alert, leaping out of bed and flinching again when she notices the water surrounding them. It's a good thing her walking stick is with her, at least, as she supports herself on it to check out the situation. She walks slightly closer, peering to make certain it's real, before backing away with a groan.]
Great. It just had to be water, right? [Her voice is somewhat scratchy, and the scars on her neck are fairly obvious-though they resemble melted stone more than burnt flesh.
Later, she can be found almost anywhere, pacing around the rooms and noticing how they're all exposed to water. When it comes to the tunnels, she definitely tries to hurry through them faster.]
4. something precious
[The item that's come out of the vending machine is a fairly plain-looking orange bandanna. Nira lifts it up to take a better look, peering especially hard at one corner, before a slightly fond smile comes to her lips. She takes a slight sniff of it and sighs contentedly.
Later on, she can also be seen with it tied around her neck, mostly covering her scars, which might surprise some people, since she's probably mentioned not being ashamed of them before.]

Anna Fugo | GRANBELM
[The library in here looks fine enough for something in an underwater lab, by which we mean it's weird. Anna, though, seems serious about it; she's scanning the shelves with a growing frown.]
No history, no geography. Nothing about where we are. Ugh, there must be something here.
[3]
[Anna opens her envelope, draws a photo out, and laughs harshly before crumpling it up, her glare burning as it never leaves the paper.]
This is my hostage? Don't make me laugh. I'd sooner kill that demon myself!
[4]
[Money, she understands, even if this vending machine is a little suspect. So Anna slides one coin in and turns the crank, only for... well, a box displaying scale model of this to plop into her hands. Assembly and painting required, of course.]
It's mocking me.

Mira Delacroix | OC
[ Mercifully, there happens to be a library here... which is where she tends to spend a lot of her time. The selection is pretty interesting, though there's a significant lack of history books... still. ]
Usually I'd be a little more comforted with a library around, but....
[ It's hard to forget that they're, like. Underwater.
She also hangs out a lot in the art room--painting, mostly. Maybe you've come in when she's working on paintings of those who've been killed here... She doesn't notice, though, she's that focused. ]
3
[ Whatever she has in her envelope has her shaken--your deepest wish--and she hastily rips it up. ]
Nothing is worth taking someone's life.
4
[ Well, someone's gotten quite the collection! She has the items all spread out on a table in the dining room, and she's surveying them curiously. ]
Oh-- anything that's yours, please take. I don't really have a use for many of these things...

William Birkin | Resident Evil
[Well, this is approximately the rudest shit in the universe, but it's moreso because he's not where he's supposed to be than for the whole underwater aspect. Like, he's not sure he's been somewhere that sucks worse than this but the whole…"secret location somewhere that secret locations probably shouldn't be" thing isn't exactly new to him, either. So he's seeming weirdly zen even though it's kind of hard to tell what he's doing internally, just kind of pacing those long hallways with his hands in his pockets, once in a while looking up at the fish through the glass like an absolute tourist.]
I'm surprised all the lighting isn't scaring them off. It doesn't seem like something they should be used to, this far down.
[Either he's determined to make the best of it or he's completely oblivious to exactly how much shit we're in. It's legitimately hard to tell.]
[III.]
[Deepest secrets, huh.
Most of the motives piss him off, honestly; it all comes with this grating sense of how-dare and the general notion that whomever's handing them out can get fucked, but...okay, this is happening. Sure.]
All right, the nonsensical little stalking game is going a bit far, don't you think?
[V.]
[Well, it's Friday, and someone sure is dead as hell down here.
Birkin really isn't the sort to alert others or go for help; as such, when you walk into this room that smells a great deal like blood (alas poor Nondescript Body, you were here and now you are everywhere, or at the very least your blood is) you can find him already there, kneeling down next to the corpse with very little regard for any gore that may be going on. He isn't completely unaffected if you know what to look for - he's sort of swearing to himself a little under his breath, the words repetitive and just giving himself something to say - but he does seem...weirdly comfortable with the corpse.]
If you're going to be here, be useful. I like having someone check my work and make sure I don't miss anything.
[...Apparently he's just going to DIY autopsy this shit right here, as you do.]

Della Duck | Ducktales Reboot
[ Nothing can stop Della Duck. You've probably heard her declare this, during your time in captivity. She's driven--nay, determined--to get back to her family, without playing by this hoity-toity Professor Schmo's rules, and you can quote her on that!
Each day she's been doing something new to try and find the way out and today, you see, today, she's...making a real big racket in the brand new woodworking room? Hope you didn't want to do anything there, because it's just...an utter mess. There's something that used to be a crowbar twisted up on a bench, and a bunch of materials strewn around the floor, and so many books from the library, all sorts of instruction manuals and building for dummies type things? Della's got her bill in one of them, muttering to herself as she's scribbling away some...very poorly drawn plans for something, like a- is it a catapult? A cannon? ...A plane? It could be anything. ]
Come on, Della, you rebuilt yourself a rocket, this should be nothing!
[ ...Oh boy.
Maybe you catch her gathering materials instead. She's popped that vending machine full of enough coins to swim in (maybe, potentially, don't quote that, her uncle would likely disagree) and is busy sorting them into useful and not useful, with a middle pile for the maybes. A bottle of extra scented shampoo? Not useful. A metal baseball bat? Useful. An inflatable shark pool toy? ...Okay, that one goes in the potentially pile.
And so on.
She's...sort of taking up the whole room, though? That doesn't even account for how some of the not useful things, she's just been piling them up in a corner. She'll get to them, she's been saying, all day, all yesterday, all week, it's fine, she's just trying to focus on what matters right now. A little clutter, that's fine, right? That's fine!
...Did you happen to come across some of the clutter lining the hall to the woodworking room? Uh. Well, she'll get to that too. ]

Sly Cooper | take a guess
[Considering what I was just in the middle of, it's no small blessing to wake up in a bed... even if it's not my own.
Was that door open just a crack a moment ago? You don't recall seeing it open, or much of a sound. But maybe you caught a glimpse of something in the corner of your eye; a streak of grey and black... fur?]
Easy now. Let's be cool.
[There's a large Raccoon man behind you, and he's got his hands up like he's not looking for a fight.]
I'm not breaking and entering, if that's what you're thinking.
[2]
[There's an art room in this facility. With some rather nice looking works in it. Strangely, the art pieces over the last few days seem to have been shuffled around. Some even appear to be missing. Strange.
Or not so strange, once someone comes across Sly slinking out of the room with a painting under his arm.]
Hey! Now I know what you're thinking, this might look bad, but really, I'm doing a good deed.
